Charlene I´ve been to paradise...A felicidade esta nas coisas simples da vida - Tradutor Técnico

I’ve been to paradise but I’ve never been to me..Charlene’s Never Been To Me

RIGHT!!!

Don’t think I’m weird here,

BUT!

This song actually popped into my mind today. God knows why, it’s not one of my regular, usual songs that I sing. I was walking with my grandson - we had just got to that bit of the hill where the sea comes into view, that’s my favourite view when I go to the shops. Anyway just as the sea comes in to view this song comes in to my head and I start singing it.

OH MY GOD !

I remember this song – I wasn’t so old ,I was a crazy teenager I think, about seventeen or eighteen. I worked in a biscuit factory, and I remember this song coming on the radio one day.

Well !

I sobbed and sobbed to it, stood there singing and sobbing trying to pack biscuite’s. I can see myself so clearly crying to it as my neighbour packer looked on at me stupidly.

BUT WHY !

Those words would have meant nothing to me at that time. I think I would have been about eighteen . I might not have been, I sometimes get mixed up with dates. I wasn’t so old anyway. I can’t understand why this song touched me so at that point in my life. I hadn’t had many adult experiences, smiling – I wouldn’t have had would I, Ha! I was a child.

It’s just come into my mind again, so I go to You.Tube and listen to it. It’s so beautiful. Okey! I can be a bit soppy at times, but it’s weird as I’m figuring I was crying for the life that was to be for me,if I’m going of the words of this song, she’s kinda singing about my life today, my feelings – some of them.

OMG !

I think I’m weird you know.

Here’s the lyrics. I’m laughing here as this is so not one of my songs, however it must be as I know it all the way through – smiling – it’s got the word paradise in. Sunrise and Paradise. The word paradise must have been on my mind because of the name I choose for my blog.

I’ve lots of sunrises to share and lots of little pockets of paradise I’d like to share. Here’s one of them in the form of this song.

Here’s the lyrics.

Hey Lady, You Lady
Cursing at your life
Your a discontented mother
And a rich invented wife
I’ve no doubt you dream about
The things you never do
But I wish someone had to talked to me
Like I wanna talk to you

Oh I’ve been to Georgia and California
And anywhere I could run
Took the hand of a preacher man
And we made love in the sun
But I ran out of places
And friendly faces
Because I had to be free
I’ve been to paradise
But I’ve never been to me

Please lady, please lady
Don’t just walk away
Cause I have this need to tell you
Why I’m all alone today
I can see so much of me
Still living in your eyes
Won’t you share a part of a weary heart
That has lived a million lives
Oh I’ve been to Nice
And the Isle of Greece
While I sipped champagne on a yacht
I moved liked Harlow in Monte Carlo
And showed ‘em what I’ve got
I’ve been undressed by kings
And I’ve seen some things
That a women ain’t supposed to see
I’ve been to paradise
But I’ve never been to me

Hey, you know what paradise is
It’s a lie, a fantasy
We create about people and places
As we’d like them to be
But you know what truth is
It’s that little baby your holding
And it’s that man you fought with this morning
The same one you’re going to make love with tonight
That’s truth, that’s love

Some times I’ve been to crying for unborn children
That might have made me complete
But I took the sweet life
And never knew I’d be bitter from the sweet
I’ve spent my life exploring
The subtle whoring
That cost too much to be free
Hey lady, I’ve been to paradise
But I’ve never been to me

I’ve been to paradise
Never been to me

Been to Georgia and California
And anywhere I could run

I’ve been to paradise
Never been to me

Been to Nice and the Isle of Greece
While I sipped champagne on a yacht

I’ve been to paradise
Never been to me
